The 490-BCKM Dell NVIDIA Tesla K80 graphics card is based on a 28nm process, based on the GK210 GPU, and supports DirectX 12. The GK210 GPU is a large chip with a die area of 561 mm² and 7,100 million transistors. . The Tesla K80 GPU combines two GPUs to increase performance and has 2,496 shaders, 208 texture mapping units, and 48 ROPs, per GPU.
NVIDIA has paired 24GB of GDDR5 memory with the Tesla K80, which is delivered using a 384-bit memory interface to each GPU (each GPU manages 12,288 MB). The GPU operates at a frequency of 562MHz, which can be boosted up to 824MHz, and the memory operates at a frequency of 1253MHz (5Gbps effective).
Being an MXM module card, the NVIDIA Tesla M6 requires no additional power connector, with power draw rated at 100W max. This device is not connected to the monitor, as it is not designed to connect monitors to it. The Tesla M6 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 interface. NVIDIA has paired 8GB of GDDR5 memory with the Tesla M6, which communicates using a 256-bit memory interface. The GPU operates at a frequency of 930MHz, which can be boosted up to 1180MHz, and the memory operates at a frequency of 1253MHz (5Gbps effective).
